International Masonry Conference IMC 2026
July 12 to 15th, 2026
Lübeck, Germany

From July 12 to 15, 2026, international researchers and scientists from the fields of masonry, building conservation, residential construction and other related fields will meet for a major conference in Lübeck. This is the first international conference on masonry in Germany for 15 years. 200 scientists from all continents are expected to attend to present and discuss the latest developments and research findings. Current topics include the new generation of standards for masonry construction (EC 6), the circular economy, low-cost housing construction, robotics/AI and the preservation of masonry infrastructure.

The Hanseatic city of Lübeck, with its outstanding stock of brick masonry buildings up to 800 years old, offers an outstanding setting for the specialist meeting. Lübeck's location in Northern Europe is particularly attractive for players from Scandinavia. The conference is therefore being jointly organized by scientists from the TH Lübeck and the University of Lund in Sweden. The venue is the MUK with its professional environment. The conference will be accompanied by an annual meeting of the German Committee for Masonry Structures and an evening for networking between research, industry, politics and planners from Schleswig-Holstein and the neighbouring federal states. Participation in the conference is open to all interested parties and the conference language is English.
